Abiuth Maronga
The ICT Chair
Abiuth Maronga lived in Chicago, Illinois, for a long time. Abiuth is the founder of a startup company and works in IT security. He lives with his family in the state of Arizona now. Abiuth is working on his Ph.D. in Technology Management, with a focus on Cybersecurity. Before that, he got a master’s degree in cybersecurity, a bachelor’s degree in operations management and information systems, and an associate degree. Abiuth also has a diploma from Kabete Polytechnic in Kenya in business administration. Abiuth brings his knowledge of IT governance, Business Continuity Plans, and setting up safe IT systems and infrastructure to the SACCO.
Billy Machage
The Vice-Chair/Secretary
Mr. Billy Machage is a college professor and IT expert who resides with his family in Newark, Delaware. Billy has taught Information Systems/Security for more than ten years at the College of Technology of Wilmington University and Delaware Technical Community College. Billy possesses two master’s degrees from Delaware State University and the University of Delaware in Special Education and Education Technology, respectively. In addition, he holds an associate degree in Information Technology and Networking concentrating in Cyber Security from Delaware Technical Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Education specializing in English and Literature from Kenyatta University in Nairobi Kenya. Billy is actively involved in the SACCO’s operations, particularly in the exploratory committee tasked with identifying new investment options for the SACCO and the Information Technology Committee tasked with managing the SACCO’s IT assets.
Dr. Elijah Ogato
Advisory Role
Elijah Ogato resides in Canada both in Ontario and North West Territories. He is an IT expert who is involved in Education Technology in First Nations Schools under KaeTas Kee Now Tribal Council Education Authority. Having MSc and Ph.D. in computer science Networking and Security areas, Elijah brings his expertise in making sure the ICT department of the Sacco is secure in its transactions with its members. He is also a specialist in intrusion detection and prevention in cyber security.
ICT Goals & Objectives
- Through automation, support SACCO aims and department objectives.
- Comprehend the business procedures and needs of the SACCO.
- Streamline SACCO operations by integrating and automating systems.
- Maintain awareness of technological developments, upgrades, and capabilities.
- Seek out new technologies and implement them where they are cost-effective.
- Enhance member access to SACCO websites and services
- Have pride and assurance in our work.
2021/2022 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Completed redesign of the SACCO website and incorporated additional features.
- Successful integration of the member management software's back-end.
- Establishing a marketplace gateway and additional promotional channels on the SACCO's website.
- Optimization of the SACCO's website and establishment of a social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter using analytics software.
- Google business registration.
- Equipping the office in Nairobi.
- Continue to develop innovative and streamlined web services, such as the SACCO's recruitment and vetting methods for new members and online resources for existing members.
2022/2023 ANTICIPATED KEY PROJECTS
- Conduct a SACCO needs assessment and develop a strategy for implementation based on the results.
- Storage replacement and enhancement.
- Construction of additional internet sites for approved active projects that link to the SACCO's main website.
- Annual replacement of significant hardware, such as desktop PCs, printers, copiers, etc.
- Email systems and collaborative tools for internal use.
