The Grand Granite Diaspora SACCO (GGDS) is preparing for its first actual assembly, the Annual General Meeting. As a young SACCO that celebrated its one anniversary on September 15th, 2021, GGDS has seen a more than 110 percent surge in membership. A brief survey of some of its members revealed sentiments such as “The SACCO’s ideals and principles coincide with my own and joining was an obvious choice.” The Marketing team responsible for planning the AGM and fanfare has something special planned for its members and the community in which the AGM will be held. The 2022 Annual General Meeting will be held in Minneapolis on July 3rd. The Gusii culture night precedes the main event, with a guest performer from Kenya entertaining the guests and community. Thus far, the GGDS AGM has been billed as the community’s event of the year in Minneapolis.
